Tara's Blog - Enjoying My Time at Home

What a week it's been.. So last Friday night I was released from the hospital after my 5 days of chemo. I was sick all week in the hospital, and when I came home, things didn't change much. From Friday to Monday, I could barely eat. I was getting down maybe a half piece of toast and a saltine cracker for the whole day, but KEEPING it down was another story.. Although I felt gross, I guess this was okay because even if I was feeling good, I had to stay inside and give my body time to repair itself; my counts were pretty low. Finally on Wednesday, I started feeling a little better. I wasn't getting sick or feeling nauseous, AND I was finally craving foods. Today I'm feeling great and can actually keep food down. Having an appetite has never felt so good!

When I'm home, I still use my PEMF machine, take my supplements, and occasionally get adjusted at the chiropractor. My infrared sauna finally came in, so I'll be using that soon as well. Unfortunately, I've been losing alot of weight, so I've been trying to eat more protein/carbs. After 8 months without carbs, it's been a little difficult to adjust but you gotta do what you gotta do! My diet is still mostly ketogenic, but I've added in some things like more fiber, fruit, and whole grains. Yummmm

I really think PEMF, my supplements, and the rest of my natural protocol are helping my counts shoot up so quickly after the chemo. Detox is a huge part of getting through treatment and tbat's exactly what PEMF, the sauna, green juices, and everything else does. I try to detox as much as I can when I'm home, and I've been lucky enough to get admitted each time I was scheduled for chemo because my counts were up to par.

If my counts are good on Monday, I'll be admitted again for some more chemo on Monday and Tuesday. Let's hope for no fevers or sickness until then! :)
