Tara's Blog - My Oncologist Says I'm Boring

I know it's been a long time, and as life goes, mine took a crazy turn. On Tuesday June 7th I was admitted into the ICU at Loyola Hospital because the tumor site had started bleeding. I was septic along with many other issues. I remain an advocate for natural healing but I had to keep an open mind in order to save my life.

The cancer metastasized to my spine and was pressing on my spinal cord, preventing me from walking. I began emergent radiation and chemotherapy just a few days after I was admitted. As I remain in the hospital, I am continuing with some key natural treatments along with the conventional.

As many of you know, chemotherapy wipes out your immune system. I am helping to prevent this by taking Beta 1,3D Glucan, vitamin C and vitamin D3. I am keeping my hemoglobin up by taking chlorophyll. I was also able to purchase the PEMF machine (thank you so much everyone) and I use it 3 times a day in my hospital room. I continue to take the supplements for my liver because we all know what hospital food is like... I've just recently lost a lot of weight so I've modified my ketogenic diet to include a little more carbs from grains to get the extra calories.

You're probably wondering why the title is My Oncologist Says I'm Boring. Well it turns out my blood counts have been so good throughout treatment that my oncologist has nothing to say to me. He just walks in the room, says my counts are great, and walks out. Aka my immune system is handling the chemo quite well. Yay!

I continue to fight everyday - I can now get up on my own and walk down the hallway with my walker. Physical therapy has really helped to strengthen me.

Thank you so much for all the well wishes, prayers, and donations. I will continue to need your support. Please keep me in your prayers.
