Tara's Blog - Thank You!!

I feel like I don't say this enough, so... To all of my family, friends, friends of friends, and strangers who have been sending me well wishes, donating, and keeping me in their prayers... Thank you, thank you, thank you!! It's been a little over 4 months since I began seeing Dr. Majors, and the results I have received are incredible. I could not have gotten this far without my amazing support system which is YOU GUYS!

Every few weeks I get tested for a lot of different things that have really big names that I will never know how to pronounce. But, most of these are inflammation markers, tumor markers, etc. and to put it as simply as possible, the more these numbers start to go down, the closer they get to normal range. The closer I get to normal range, the better I get. And as of a few weeks ago, MY NUMBERS HAVE GONE DOWN DRASTICALLY! For example, LDH (lactate dehydrogenase) is a marker that shows the severity of cellular damage. On January 27th, my LDH was 1171. That's literally crazy. Now, it's down to 264!!! That's even crazier and I'M PSYCHED!!! The normal range is from 135-214! It's the little things like this that excite me.. ‪#‎cancerproblems‬ haha.

Anyway, please trust me when I say I could not have seen results like this if it weren't for the constant support I am receiving every day, because believe me, healing myself is the hardest thing I've ever had to do. Screaming in my car before class just hoping that'll drown out the pain, keeping my parents up all night by having them rub my back and shoulder, and lying awake at night asking myself if it would be easier to just give up. What I am going through will make me remember this experience for the rest of my life. But, I have all of you to thank for where I am today. Of course, some days are tough but just knowing that I am getting better and have the support that will allow me to continue getting better, that's what keeps me going. Just four months ago, I barely smiled. Now I crave that euphoric feeling of laughing till you get a six pack.

So if you're reading this, thank you again for all that you are doing. I still have a really long journey ahead of me, but I know it'll get easier everyday. Keep the good vibes coming :)
