Benefits of Our Goats Milk Soaps
I realize that we’re encouraged to use hand sanitizers. This is all fine and good, but we need to be careful to not completely kill off the natural flora on our skin. Our skin has its own micro-biome of bacteria and such of about 80 different fungi species and about 1,000 different bacterial species. Some of these same species are also found in the gut microbiome. Science is showing the connection between the immune system and our skin micro-biome, called the gut-skin axis. Hand sanitizers damage the skin micro-biome and can contribute to antibiotic resistance. A superbug can be created, and we won’t be able to fend it off without the good bacteria on our skin. The FDA has reported on the safety of hand sanitizers and their toxic ingredients. If you need to use them, be sure to normalize your skin microbiome as best as you can afterward. Aside from eating a healthy diet, an excellent way to do this is by using natural, handmade soaps.
Ingredients in Our Goats Milk Soaps
Our soaps, as you know, are made with organic goats milk soap. Our Honey Oatmeal Soap also contains organic beeswax, organic raw honey, and organic oatmeal. Our Activated Charcoal soap also contains organic castor oil, activated charcoal, and lavender and tea tree essential oils.
These are the ingredients of our soaps. Have you checked out the ingredients in your everyday soap? Are there more chemicals than actual ingredients? Can you say the ingredient names? Did you know there are endocrine disruptors such as BPA (mimics estrogen) and triclosan (suppresses thyroid hormones) found in conventional and antibacterial soaps, both liquid and bar soap.
Fragrances are another issue. Because of a loophole, companies are not required to list all of the ingredients that go into their fragrance. Many of these ingredients include polycyclic and nitro musks. Nitro musks increase the proliferation rate of human breast cancer cells and polycyclic musks were found to possess endocrine disruptors.
Did you know according to the FDA, the majority of soaps out there are not really soap, but synthetic detergent products instead?
Why I Love Our Goats Milk Soaps
This is why I love using our organic goats milk soaps. They do not contain surfactants and chemicals like mainstream soap does. They do contain vitamins and nutrients that feed our skin, naturally. Goat milk soap contains a good source of vitamin A, which is a fat-soluble vitamin, that plays a role in tissue repair, such as anti-aging properties, and selenium, which is a mineral that plays a role in preventing cancer. Goat milk contains alpha-hydroxy acids, such as lactic acid, that helps to remove dead skin cells and improves the barrier against pathogens.
Our Honey Oatmeal Soap, by the way, was my Tara’s favorite soap. This soap was approved for use by her oncologist! This is a big deal because during radiation, patients are not able to use products with fragrances, dyes, and chemicals in them.
The Honey Oatmeal Soap is anti-itch and anti-septic that soothes skin infections and rashes like eczema. The activated charcoal attracts toxins, making our Activated Charcoal Soap a perfect remedy to help clean skin infections and wounds.
Why do natural soaps cost so much more than commercially made soaps? The ingredients for one thing, are usually organic or top quality. They’re natural and not artificial. Natural soaps are handmade, therefore, made with more care and attention, and that takes longer to produce. Goats milk for example, takes about three months for the milk to actually cure before it is ready to become soap. Lastly, natural soaps are sold by us little guys. We’re not connected to the big tech giants.
Ditch the mainstream mess. Clean up with natural, organic handmade goats milk soap. It’s moisturizing, conditioning, and benefits our skin’s ecosystem.
